The Liberal Assault on Liberalism
The corporate and establishment over-reaction to what was, in the event, a mere riot in history's long catalogue of tumults, represents a greater threat to democracy than anything the rioters were capable of mustering. The Democrat and liberal hatred of Trump is so all consuming that they are willing to trash the First Amendment to get back at their nemesis and to suppress his supporters. Whether they impeach him or prosecute him or simply run him out of town, I don't much care. Tuesday's Travesty
Since states lost their mythical foundations in 1789, they have desperately sought to legitimize their existence by one means or another. The justification cranked up by liberal democracies is that the State is legitimized by the Consent of the Governed, for whose Welfare the government labours tirelessly. In the case of the United States, this vaunted self justification no longers has a shred of plausibility... The issue on Tuesday is whether one wishes to uphold or call out the farce. [ read ]
